Mbeya, Tanzania:
Serikali imeshauriwa kufanya mabadiliko ya jina la Uwanja wa Ndege wa Kimataifa wa Songwe (SIA) uitwe jina la mkoa husika (Mbeya) ili kuondoa mkanganyo kwa wageni wanaoingia na kutoka mkoani humo kwa shughuli mbalimbali.
Ombi hilo limetolewa leo Jumatatu Januari 9, 2023 na Spika wa Bunge ambaye pia ni mbunge wa Mbeya Mjini, Dk Tulia Ackson aliposhiriki kikao cha bodi ya barabara mkoa kilichoongozwa na mkuu wa mkoa, Juma Homera.
“Uhalisia wa viwanja vya ndege duniani ni lazima utaitwa jina la mahali husika kijografia au jina la mtu, huwezi kutumia jina la Songwe ambalo ni mkoa mwingine kwenye eneo la mkoa wa Mbeya, jambo hili linawachanganya watu wengi, hivyo unahitaji mabadiliko,” amesema Dk Tulia.
Kwa upande wake, mbunge wa Lupa, Masanche Kasaka ameunga mkono hoja huku akisisitiza Wakala wa Barabara Tanzania (Tanroads) kuboresha miundombinu ya barabara.
Mfanyabishara wa duka la jumla jijini Mbeya, Atupakisye John amesema ni vyema Serikali kulipokea wazo hilo na kufanya mabadiliko ya jina la uwanja wa ndege wa Songwe na kuitwa uwanja wa mkoa husika.
“Hata sisi tunapowapokea wafanyabishara wenzetu kutoka mataifa mengine uwa wanahoji sababu za uwanja uliopo mkoa wa Mbeya kuitwa uwanja wa ndege wa Songwe, jambo ambalo linaleta kigugumizi,” amesema.
