Jinsi ya kutengeneza pesa kwa simu yako

Dar es Salaam. Umewahi kufikiria kuwa simu yako inaweza kukutajirisha kwa kuingiza fedha nyingi, endapo utaitumia kwa usahihi mtandaoni?

Eva Damba, mkazi wa Iringa anasema kwa siku huingiza kati ya Sh50,000 hadi Sh90,000 kwa kufanya biashara mtandaoni kupitia mtandao wa WhatsApp bila kukutana na mteja. Shukrani anazitoa kwa mapinduzi ya teknolojia yaliyoleta simu janja.

“Simu yangu naifanya kama duka kwa sababu bidhaa zote ninazouza nazi-post kwenye ‘status’ (WhatsApp) na wateja nawapata huko. Nimeanza biashara hii tangu nilipomaliza chuo mwaka 2021 na kwa siku naweza kupata Sh50,000 hadi Sh90,000, inategemea na idadi ya wateja,” anasema Eva.

Hata hivyo, wakati Eva akisema hayo, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Swahili Digital, Gillsant Mlaseko anasema bado mwitikio ni mdogo miongoni mwa Watanzania kutumia fursa hiyo.

“Kuna haja ya ushirikiano kati ya Serikali, sekta binafsi, na taasisi za elimu ili kuhakikisha Tanzania inafaidika na fursa zinazotolewa na uchumi wa kidijitali, tofauti na ilivyo sasa,” anasema.

Pamoja na hayo, kwa vyovyote  iwavyo, fursa hizo zinaongezeka kwa kuwa watumiaji wa intaneti nchini nao wanaongezeka kila mwaka, kwa mujibu wa takwimu za robo mwaka unaoishia Machi 2024 za Mamlaka ya Mawasiliano Tanzania (TCRA).

“Idadi ya laini za intaneti inazidi kuongezeka mwaka hadi mwaka. Machi 2021 zilikuwepo laini milioni 29.1, zikaongezeka hadi milioni 29.9 Machi 2022, zimeongezeka tena kufikia milioni 33.1 Machi 2023, kabla ya kupanda na kufikia milioni 36.8 kwa robo mwaka iliyoishia Machi 2024,” inaeleza sehemu ya ripoti hiyo.

Njia za kuingiza fedha

Mbali na WhatsApp ambayo hutumika zaidi na wafanyabiashara wengi wa mitandaoni, mdau wa uchumi wa kidijitali, Christa Mandu amezitaja programu nyingine maarufu zilizopo mtandaoni ambazo amesema ukijisajili unaweza kuuza bidhaa mbalimbali kwa kuwa ‘mtu wa kati’ na kulipwa kamisheni kwa kadri ya mauzo yako.

“Zipo programu za wauzaji washirika ambao unawasaidia kutafuta masoko, hiyo mimi naifanya, mfano, Shopify, Amazon na eBay ambazo zinakuruhusu kuuza bidhaa na kupata kamisheni kwa kila uuzaji unaofanywa kupitia akaunti yako, ambayo utakuwa umejisajili,” anasema.

Mandu anasema ili uingize fedha kwa kuuza bidhaa katika programu hizo lazima uzingatie uhitaji wa eneo lako.

“Ili uanze uuzaji wa ushirika (affiliated marketing), zingatia kutafuta bidhaa zinazolingana na kuendana na wateja wako katika nchi yako au eneo unaloishi,” anasema.

Anasema kwa wenye vipaji na wasanii wanaweza kuuza maudhui waliyoyatengeneza kwa simu katika majukwaa mbalimbali ya kimataifa na kuwaingizia kipato.

“Kama wewe una kipaji labda cha uchoraji au uandishi kuna mfumo mmoja unaitwa ‘Patreon’ ambao watayarishaji wa maudhui wanauza kazi zao nzuri kwa wateja wanaokutanishwa nao mtandaoni na mfumo huo,” anasema.

Kuhusu majukwaa ya kuuza bidhaa mtandaoni, Mlaseko anasema kwa Tanzania kuna: Inalipa, JiJi na Kupatana, ambayo yote unaweza kufanya biashara mtandao.

Pia anasema, “kuna fursa za kufanya kazi kama wafanyakazi huru (Freelancer) kwenye majukwaa kama Upwork, Fiverr na Freelancer.com, ambako unaweza kuuza ujuzi katika uandishi, ubunifu, uhandisi wa programu, na zaidi.”

Fursa nyingine ya kuingiza fedha kupitia mtandao au simu yako, Mlaseko anasema ni ama waandishi, wapigapicha au watayarishaji wa video wanaweza kuuza kazi zao katika majukwaa ya Shutterstock au iStock.

Wakati wadau hao wakitaja mbinu hizo, tovuti ya teknolojia ya ‘Medium’ iliyoanzishwa mwaka 1997 kwa mujibu wa ‘wayback machine’ imeonyesha fursa ya kujifunza ujuzi mpya kupitia masomo ya muda mfupi, ambayo yanasaidia katika kufanya biashara za mtandaoni za kimataifa.

“Elimu ya mtandaoni imekuwa maarufu zaidi miaka 10 iliyopita, na kutoa njia rahisi kwa watu kujifunza ujuzi mpya au kuboresha ujuzi uliopo. Mifumo ya elimu ya kielektroniki kama vile Coursera au Udemy hutoa kozi mbalimbali, lakini pia unaweza kufundisha kwa njia ya mtandao ukiwa umekidhi vigezo na unaweza kuingiza fedha,” inaeleza tovuti hiyo.

Afrika, Tanzania bado

Wakati uchumi wa dunia ukishika kasi kidijitali, hali ni tofauti katika nchi zilizo kusini mwa Jangwa la Sahara.

Kulingana na utafiti uliofanywa na Shirikisho la Kampuni za Simu (GSMA) ulioitwa Mobile Economy 2023,  asilimia 25 tu ya wanaomiliki simu janja wameunganishwa na intaneti.

Matokeo ya utafiti huo yanaungwa mkono na Mlaseko, anayetaja vikwazo vya maendeleo ya uchumi wa kidijitali Tanzania, kuwa ni pamoja na upatikanaji finyu wa mtandao.

“Miongoni mwa changamoto za kuingia katika uchumi wa kidijitali Tanzania ni pamoja na upatikanaji mdogo wa mtandao, gharama kubwa ya huduma za intaneti, miundombinu duni ya Tehama, na ukosefu wa elimu ya kutosha katika eneo hilo,” anasema Mlaseko.

Kwa upande wake, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Sahara Venture, Jumanne Mtambalike anashauri ili kuendana na uchumi wa kidijitali ni lazima sera za nchi zibadilike na kuwa rafiki, pia uwekezaji zaidi ufanyike katika miundombinu ya Tehama, ikiwamo katika mkongo wa Taifa.

Kuhusu changamoto hizo, Waziri wa Habari, Mawasiliano na Teknolojia ya Habari, Nape Nnauye akisoma bajeti ya wizara hiyo ya mwaka 2023/2024 alisema Serikali inatekeleza mradi wa kuiongezea uwezo minara ya mawasiliano ili kuongeza kasi ya intaneti.

“Serikali imeendelea kutekeleza mradi wa kuiongezea uwezo minara (upgrade) inayotumia teknolojia ya 2G pekee ili iweze kutoa pia huduma ya intaneti kwa kiwango cha 3G na 4G na kuwawezesha wananchi kupata huduma za kidijitali. Hadi Aprili, 2023 minara 227 imeongezwa uwezo huo,” alisema.

“Serikali pia inakamilisha kufanya upembuzi yakinifu kwa ajili ya biashara mtandao, itakayosaidia kupata taarifa za watumiaji wa biashara mtandao nchini na uratibu wa biashara husika,” alisema Waziri Nape.

Kwa mujibu wa takwimu za Benki ya Dunia (WB), mpaka kufikia mwaka 2030, asilimia 30 ya pato la dunia litakuwa linachangiwa na uchumi wa kidijitali ambao simu na intaneti ni miongoni mwa vifaa vinavyouchagiza.

Air Tanzania Banned From EU Airspace Due to Safety Concerns

Several airports have since locked Air Tanzania, dealing a severe blow to the Tanzanian national carrier that must now work overtime to regain its certification or go the wet lease way

The European Commission has announced the inclusion of Air Tanzania on the EU Air Safety List, effectively banning the airline from operating in European airspace.

The decision, made public on December 16, 2024, is based on safety concerns identified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which also led to the denial of Air Tanzania’s application for a Third Country Operator (TCO) authorisation.

The Commission did not go into the specifics of the safety infringement but industry experts suggest it is possible that the airline could have flown its Airbus A220 well past its scheduled major checks, thus violating the airworthiness directives.

“The decision to include Air Tanzania in the EU Air Safety List underscores our unwavering commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards for passengers in Europe and worldwide,” said Apostolos Tzitzikostas, EU Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism.

“We strongly urge Air Tanzania to take swift and decisive action to address these safety issues. I have offered the Commission’s assistance to the Tanzanian authorities in enhancing Air Tanzania’s safety performance and achieving full compliance with international aviation standards.”

Air Tanzania has a mixed fleet of modern aircraft types including Boeing 787s, 737 Max jets, and Airbus A220s.

It has been flying the B787 Dreamliner to European destinations like Frankfurt in Germany and Athens in Greece and was looking to add London to its growing list with the A220.

But the ban not only scuppers the London dream but also has seen immediate ripple effect, with several airports – including regional like Kigali and continental – locking out Air Tanzania.

Tanzania operates KLM alongside the national carrier.

The European Commission said Air Tanzania may be permitted to exercise traffic rights by using wet-leased aircraft of an air carrier which is not subject to an operating ban, provided that the relevant safety standards are complied with.

A wet lease is where an airline pays to use an aircraft with a crew, fuel, and insurance all provided by the leasing company at a fee.

Two more to the list

The EU Air Safety List, maintained to ensure passenger safety, is updated periodically based on recommendations from the EU Air Safety Committee.

The latest revision, which followed a meeting of aviation safety experts in Brussels from November 19 to 21, 2024, now includes 129 airlines.

Of these, 100 are certified in 15 states where aviation oversight is deemed insufficient, and 29 are individual airlines with significant safety deficiencies.

Alongside Air Tanzania, other banned carriers include Air Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe), Avior Airlines (Venezuela), and Iran Aseman Airlines (Iran).

Commenting on the broader implications of the list, Tzitzikostas stated, “Our priority remains the safety of every traveler who relies on air transport. We urge all affected airlines to take these bans seriously and work collaboratively with international bodies to resolve the identified issues.”

In a positive development, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been cleared to resume operations in the EU following a four-year suspension. The ban, which began in 2020, was lifted after substantial improvements in safety performance and oversight by PIA and the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

“Since the TCO Authorisation was suspended, PIA and PCAA have made remarkable progress in enhancing safety standards,” noted Tzitzikostas. “This demonstrates that safety issues can be resolved through determination and cooperation.”

Another Pakistani airline, Airblue Limited, has also received EASA’s TCO authorisation.

Decisions to include or exclude airlines from the EU Air Safety List are based on rigorous evaluations of international safety standards, particularly those established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The process involves thorough review and consultation among EU Member State aviation safety experts, with oversight from the European Commission and support from EASA.

“Where an airline currently on the list believes it complies with the required safety standards, it can request a reassessment,” explained Tzitzikostas. “Our goal is not to penalize but to ensure safety compliance globally.”

Airlines listed on the EU Air Safety List face significant challenges to their international operations, as the bans highlight shortcomings in safety oversight by their home regulatory authorities.

For Air Tanzania, this inclusion signals an urgent need for reform within Tanzania’s aviation sector to address these deficiencies and align with global standards.

The path forward will require immediate and sustained efforts to rectify safety concerns and regain access to one of the world’s most critical aviation markets.
